Wii never underestimated you, Nintendo
Wii buzz is still at an all-time high, with the media bending over backwards to cover Nintendo's upcoming console. After all, no matter if the system fails or succeeds, it will be groundbreaking either way. But publishers were caught off guard by just how much hoopla E3 would cause for Wii.
According to The Street.com, although Nintendo may be a big winner this holiday season, it's not necessarily great news for publishers. Industry analyst James Lin said that publishers were "caught off guard" and that "They weren't expecting anything." So it'll take a while for publishers to cash in, because publishers like EA aren't going to have many games to offer for the holiday season.
