It's a case of "better late than never" as prices plummet for nine top Xbox 360 games. Why pay $60 when you can pay $40?
Last week, nine Xbox 360 games recieved significant price drops: all dropped from the next-gen premium price of $59.99 to a much friendlier $39.99.

Madden NFL 06

Why the sudden price drop? For EA, the reason is likely because the company took a hit on its Xbox 360 launch lineup (blame the hardware shortages). Now that work is well underway for Madden '07 and the inevitable sequel to Burnout Revenge, there's a big incentive to sell through as many existing units as fast as possible before the new games entries hit.
In the case of Amped 3, King Kong, and The Outfit, another reason is likely to blame -- mediocre sales. Still, all the titles on this list are sure to see a big sales spike after such a big price drop.
