It would be great if they were to drop it down to a price at 200 dollars or to a certain point to grab the non gamers attention. Hopefully it will because of the innovative idea with the remote.
At $229, I will still buy one since I am a die hard Nintendo fan. However, Nintendo continues to have the most affordable products which puts Nintendo in a favorable position.

Look at ps3's price? $600? Horrible marketing idea. It is not worth the price. This reminds me of the 3DO back in 1993 that was priced at 700 dollars, 3DO did offer a lot of new ideas for 1993, but the price was too high, consumers didn't buy into it despite what new ideas 3DO offered because of the price tag. Will history repeat itself with the playstation 3 like it did with the 3DO and the NEO GEO? |

| agreed that it should be less then 200 dollars but they still have to make a profit and still be able to compete with sony and microsoft...i have been a die hard nintendo fan since the 8-bit nes...but the first system i ever played was the atari 2600 |

| True, however the Wii is competing against the PS3 and XBox 360, both of which are/will be very expensive. |

I'm sure nintendo will have the price to where they gain profit and have a fair price for the consumer.
Sony being priced at 600 dollars doesn't mean they will gain a ton of profit. Sony put in so much into the ps3 to where it forced them to be priced so high. This is why I think Sony could be in trouble.
Also, my first system was the Atari 2600 as well.  I'm a old school gamer myself. |
